Major Russian Strikes Cut Power Across Ukraine's Capital

Ukraine's energy systems have faced increased attacks in the past few days

Throughout the evening, Russian missile and drone strikes have resulted in power cuts in extensive areas of the capital city, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were wounded while local people in eastern neighborhoods were experienced blackouts and dealt with problems to water supplies, per reports from municipal leaders.

Meanwhile, a minor was lost their life in a separate Russian drone strike in the southeastern region in the country's south-east, as reported by area administrators.

Moscow has escalated attacks on electrical systems over recent weeks, while the country's government has demanded "real steps" from partner nations to increase pressure on Moscow.

"What is required is not window dressing but strong steps - from the US, Europe and the major economies - in supplying air defence systems and applying penalties," he wrote in a public message.

Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and over thirty missiles attacked the country's power systems, describing such assaults as "premeditated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as the weather cools.

Government representatives said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and maintenance teams were striving to restore power.

A series of attacks hit electrical systems and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Several of the people injured in the attacks on the city have been transported for medical care, according to city authorities.

Regional authorities said the city came under heavy assaults throughout the evening. A minor lost their life and three other people were hurt.

The assaults follow nights of air raids in the territory, portions of which remain under the control of Moscow's military.

The entire country is in a state of readiness for advanced weapon attacks, which are harder to identify.

National leaders told journalists that Moscow was deliberately attempting to damage the electrical infrastructure, with strikes already disrupting gas facilities.

Officials stated energy workers and authorities were preparing for further attacks.
